Lube, Oil and Filter

As indicated by the GM Oil Life System or every 3 months/5,000 km for vehicles without this feature.

What we do:

  • Drain the oil and replace it with premium General Motors engine oil
  • Replace oil filter with GM-approved filter
  • Lubricate chassis, suspension and steering components, as required
  • 15-point inspection including battery, tires, air filter, all lights, wipers, hoses, belts and top-up fluids

Why it's important:

  • Engine oil eventually becomes contaminated with by-products of combustion and condensation, losing its ability to lubricate engine parts and dissipate heat
  • Oil filters remove contaminants, but they become clogged
  • Regular oil changes promote engine efficiency – reducing possible engine damage and expensive repairs
  • Using the oils designed for your engine is vital for proper operation of the GM Oil Life System*
  • A comprehensive 15-point inspection and fluid top-up help to ensure key vehicle parts and fluids are in safe working condition

* Most 2003 and later GM vehicles now have a GM Oil Life System that tells you when oil replacement is needed – usually between 5,000 km and 12,500 km. The kilometres between oil changes will vary depending on how you drive your vehicle. (System does not detect dust in the oil.)

Tire Rotation

What we do:

  • On-hoist inspection for tire wear or tire damage
  • Tire rotation
  • Inspection of front and rear brakes
  • Suspension and exhaust system check
  • Tire inspection, including pressure, wear and tread depth

Why it's important:

  • Tires wear faster in different areas – depending on tire position. Regular rotation prevents uneven wear, improving traction and extending tire life
  • Improper tire inflation affects fuel economy and braking, and accelerates tire wear impacting safe operation of your vehicle
  • Alignment, tire and other problems can be detected early on, reducing the possibility of costly repairs

Emission Control Service

Emission Control Service

What we do:

  • Inspect air filter and PCV valve, and replace if needed
  • Inspect ignition coils and wires and battery connections
  • Inspect throttle body and fuel injection system, and fuel tank, cap and lines, clean throttle body deposits – if required
  • Check system performance with GM diagnostic equipment.
  • Replace spark plugs (if they are not platinum-tipped)*
  • Road test vehicle

Why it's important:

  • Maximizes fuel economy, engine life and expectancy
  • Reduces vehicle emissions as well as the possibility of breakdowns and expensive repairs
  • Helps preserve the environment

* Most vehicles since 1996 model year have platinum-tipped spark plugs, which are rated to 166,000 km (see Owner’s Manual). Maintenance needs vary with use and driving conditions.

Brake Inspection

What we do:

  • Inspect brake pads, shoes, calipers and slider movement, rotors, drums, parking brake cables, wheel cylinders, master cylinder fluid level and quality, brake lines and hoses

Why it's important:

  • Brake pads and shoes gradually wear down. They must be inspected regularly and replaced as required
  • Rotors (discs) and drums can also become rough and uneven, impairing performance
  • Maintenance promotes safety, increases brake component life and helps avoid costly repairs

Cooling System Service

What we do:

  • Test for internal and external leaks
  • Pressure-test radiator cap
  • Check condition and tension of drive belts and coolant hoses
  • Inspect/wash radiator exterior and air conditioning condenser
  • Drain and refill cooling system if required*
  • If your vehicle has DEX-COOLTM coolant, only DEX-COOL will be used**

Why it's important:

  • Extends engine and cooling system life
  • Reduces potential breakdowns
  • Helps prevent engine damage due to heat and corrosion

* When properly maintained, DEX-COOLTM coolant only requires replacement every 5 years or 240,000 km – whichever comes first. Although some Owner’s Manuals originally stated that DEX-COOLTM coolant requires replacement every 160,000 km, validation testing conducted since their printing has allowed the standard replacement interval to be extended to 240,000 km or five years (whichever comes first) if you add only DEX-COOLTM extended life coolant. Maintenance needs vary with use and driving conditions.

** Warning, do not mix DEX-COOLTM with other coolants.

Powertrain/Chassis Component Inspection

Powertrain/Chassis Component Inspection

What we do:

  • Perform tire rotation and brake inspection
  • Inspect steering, suspension, front-wheel drive axle boot, seals, drive shaft, rear axle, exhaust system, radiator, heater hoses, cooling fan, throttle linkage and fuel system
  • Check that the power steering lines and hoses are properly hooked up, and are free of binding, leaks, cracks, chafing, etc.
  • Clean and then inspect the drive axle boot seals for damage, tears or leakage, and replace the seals if necessary
  • Check restraints system and air bag covers
  • Inspect automatic/manual transmission/transaxle – including transaxle fluid level and inspect hydraulic clutch
  • Lubricate all weatherstrips, using silicon grease

Why it's important:

  • Helps avoid breakdowns and expensive repairs
  • Preserves resale value and extends vehicle life
  • Helps optimize driving control and safety
  • Weatherstrips treated with silicone grease last longer, seal better and are less likely to stick or squeak. (More frequent application may be required during very cold, damp weather)

Automatic Transmission/Transaxle Service

What we do:

  • Road-test before and after service
  • Inspect transmission/transaxle for leaks
  • Replace transmission/transaxle fluid, gasket and filter
  • If your vehicle uses Dexron-III, your transmission fluid may not require changing*
  • Adjust linkage (if required)

Why it's important:

  • Like engine oil, transmission/transaxle fluid and filters also become contaminated with use and require regular replacement to prevent wear and damage to moving metal parts. This reduces the potential of breakdowns and expensive repairs

* Extended-life, oxidation-resistant Dexron-III transmission fluid is designed to last the lifetime of your vehicle under regular driving conditions. Maintenance requirements vary with use and driving conditions. See Owner’s Manual for more information.
